Defensive Driving Systems Ltd. developed the course material currently being used and trained the trainers on the effective 16 Modules syllabus for SOPAF down stream across the entire African Continent, from North to South, East to West. All company employees are trained in Defensive Driving and anti-hijack techniques, all HGV drivers are fully trained in Defensive Driving and carriage of petroleum products. Taxi drivers based at Julius Nyerere Intl airport trained in Defensive Driving as part of Shell corporate responsibility project. Forklift Operators based in Geita and Dar es Salaam lubricant depots trained to RTITB (UK) standards. Kenol / Kobil Oil Kenya Ltd. HGV contracted drivers are trained in Defensive Driving and in the carriage of petroleum products and their safety procedures. Chevron Texaco Oil Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda Ltd. All HGV contracted drivers in Kenya are fully trained in Defensive Driving and in the carriage of petroleum products and their safety procedures, company employees are trained in defensive driving and anti – hijack techniques. Lafarge Cement WAPCO Nigeria PLC HGV Truck Drivers are currently being trained in Defensive Driving skills and Driver Fatigue Management, so far we have trained 450 HGV drivers, we have already set in place a programme to train another 600 HGV truck drivers over the next 2 years (2010—2011) Lafarge Bamburi Cement Kenya Ltd. & Hima Cement Uganda Ltd. HGV drivers in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kampala and Kasese are trained in Defensive Driving and Driver Tiredness Awareness. Company employees (LV) are also trained in the same as well as Anti-Hijack skills. All company personnel, from senior management to pool drivers have been trained in Defensive Driving techniques. DHL Supply Chain (ESC) Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria and Oman The worlds largest logistics company; all HGV and company pool drivers based in Kenya, Uganda and Oman have been trained in defensive driving, anti-hijacking and aspects of economical driving. All Counterbalanced forklift and Reach truck operators in East Africa contracted by: Unilever Kenya Ltd, Nampak Kenya Ltd, British American Tobacco, Uganda Breweries are trained including the operator’s supervisors to RTITB (UK) standards. (former Brooke Bond) All motorbike riders trained in Defensive Riding and Off-Road Riding techniques over the last 6 years, Forklift Operators trained in Lift Truck Operating procedures (RTITB UK) Unilever Kenya Ltd. Company staff including senior management trained in Defensive Driving and anti-hijack techniques. All company distributors based within Kenya are currently being trained in Defensive Driving techniques. CFAO DT Dobie Kenya Ltd. (Mercedes Actros) Familiarisation training and assessment conducted for all drivers driving new Mercedes Actros Trucks purchased by their organisation from the Actros Dealer in East Africa. The Jimmy Carter Foundation (Southern Sudan) Motorbike riders and 4x4 drivers based in Kapoeta, Aweil, Wau, Rumbek and Eastern Equatoria have been trained in extensive off-road riding and handling skills so as to be able to access and handle the roughest and wettest terrains of the entire Southern Sudan. Mercedes Unimog drivers trained in Off-Road Advanced Driving skills in Nyangachor.. Nestle Foods Kenya Ltd. All sales and marketing personnel as well as senior management / pool drivers are trained in Defensive Driving and anti-hijacking techniques. Embassy of Japan (Tanzania) All drivers have been trained in Defensive Driving and extensive anti-hijacking techniques. European Union Delegates Ethiopia and Tanzania All drivers have been trained in Defensive Driving and extensive off-road 4X4 driving skills Ashanti Gold — Geita Gold Mines Tanzania Ltd. Geita, Africa’s 2nd largest Gold Mine. Skip truck operator’s trained in Defensive Driving and skip operations, ambulance and fire truck drivers trained in defensive driving and harsh terrain off-road driving that would be encountered while responding to an emergency in a gold mine. Tanzania Breweries Ltd (SAB Miller SA) All truck delivery drivers driving state of the art latest fully automatic Mercedes Actros machines have been trained in Defensive Driving, Driver Tiredness Management as well as training on the functions and abilities of the Telligent Mercedes Actros vehicles they drive. The training was done at their Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Mwanza Plants respectively. JohnsonDiversey East Africa Company staff including senior management trained in Defensive Driving and anti-hijack techniques. Forklift operators recently trained extensively as they were completely new and had never driven or operated a forklift before! British High Commission (Kenya and Tanzania) Pool and management drivers including the High Commissioners drivers trained in Defensive Driving, off-road 4x4 and anti-hijacking techniques. Nairobi Airport Services (NAS) We recently completed a comprehensive Driving Evaluation process across the entire company and we will soon commence a driving improvement programme that will involve training and coaching weak /poor drivers within the company, we commence this programme from Q3 2010 into 2011 Syngenta East Africa Ltd Company staff including senior management trained in Defensive Driving and anti-hijack techniques.
